The Fair Lawn Language Arts/ Literacy Program provides students with multiple opportunities to develop the language skills and strategies needed to communicate effectively as individuals and as contributing members of society. Through a spiraling curriculum, students engage in meaningful reading, writing, speaking, listening, and viewing experiences for understanding, appreciation, and pleasure from a variety of genres and media. Emphasis is placed on developing each student’s ability to read intensively, write extensively, and think critically. As 21st century learners, students make effective use of information gained from a range of resources and technologies to broaden their understanding of our global community.
